1st Anniversary!

Hi everyone.

I don’t have a new review to post today but I just thought I would take a moment to thank you for your support and submissions over the last twelve months. On 6th February 2014, I posted my first review on this blog and since then I have posted ninety-five more, including nine book tours, twenty-seven submissions from kind authors and one guest post from Nick.

I’m not going to do a special anniversary review because I’m only a few books away from the 100th review (don’t worry, I have something saved up for that one) but I thought I’d take a moment today to talk about my favourite books. I always believe in giving praise where praise is due so here’s a list of my top 10 Young Adult novels (in no particular order). I was also considering doing a top 10 worst novels list but decided that this was a tad unfair. It takes a lot of courage to send a novel out into the world and I certainly don’t want to put any authors off by telling people that their books suck. Instead, I’ll tell you what my least favourite novel of the year was. Shadowmancer by G.P. Taylor. Given how inflamatory and offensive this book was, I have no problem with pointing the finger at it. A novel will have to work pretty hard to knock Shadowmancer off its worst novel podium…
